A brand new image offers fans a closer look at Avengers: Age of Ultron’s Captain Marvel stand-in. Brie Larson debuted the hero in her origin movie, Captain Marvel, from directors Anna Fleck and Ryan Boden only last year. Prior to that, there wasn’t any hint of her existing except for the appearance of her insignia in Avengers: Infinity War’s post-credit scene. However, fans know that there were plans to tease her arrival as early as the second Avengers movie from 2015....

Ever since Iron Man was first released in the summer of 2008, Marvel Studios has been slowly working towards next year’s Avengers: Infinity War, even if that might not have been clear to fans until Thanos’ first appearance during the end credits of The Avengers. Backblaze is today launching version 4.0 of its Mac backup app, potentially allowing file uploads to happen five times faster. This will primarily be of benefit for the initial backup, which can take several weeks. Faster downloads will also be available when restoring from a backup. The future of legacy application data and the cloud – report found that only 35% of organizations store more than 50% of their legacy app data on cloud services. Yet more than 80% say their priority is to move their data within 12 months or sooner. Those plans, however, are made uncertain by three major issues: 60% said data compliance was a big concern with changing data regulations in California and in Europe; security is a huge concern for 55%, especially with the rise in ransomware and the large fines if hackers gain access to data, and about 50% said they had uncertainty over budgets for cloud-based IT plus there is a significant lack of IT talent in this area....

Apple has today started a replacement program for the iPhone XS Smart Battery Case and the iPhone XR Smart Battery Case. Apple says that units sold from January 2019 through October 2019 may experience charging issues due to a fault. Affected units may exhibit issues like intermittent charging when plugged into power or the case simply not charging the iPhone at all. As Apple boasts of creating two million U.S. jobs, it has been accused of making life as a small developer unsustainable. The claim was made by Matt Gemmell, a software engineer who used to work for Apple as a contractor and whose source code has been used in hundreds of iOS and macOS apps. Gemmell wrote this in a blog post in which he argues that Apple has ‘trained’ consumers to think that apps should be free or extremely cheap, and that they shouldn’t have to pay extra to run an app on multiple devices, or for updates....

Battlefield V’s Firestorm mode has many user experience issues, and things got even worse last December with the release of a new patch. The shooter game hit the shelves on November 20th, 2018. Apple today held another special event to introduce new Macs, and although this was the only topic of the event, the company quietly launched some new colors for its Apple Watch bands. The newly introduced Solo Loop and the traditional Sport Band were updated with three new colors. The update wasn’t mentioned during today’s presentation. Instead, Apple only updated its website with the new colors. These include a new bright orange called Kumquat, a shade of blue called Northern Blue that resembles the new iPhone 12 Pro color, and a dark purple named Plum....

Apple Watch continues to dominate the smartwatch industry, according to new data. During the second quarter of 2019, Strategy Analytics estimates that Apple shipped 5.7 million Apple Watches worldwide. With shipments of 5.7 million in Q2 2019, that’s up 50 percent year-over-year, compared to 3.8 million shipments in Q2 2018. Apple’s share of the smartwatch market has now grown to 46 percent, up from 44 percent during the same quarter last year....
