Sci-fi adventure show Babylon 5 is one of the most beloved TV series of the 1990s. The show ran for five seasons from 1994-1998, with many of the principal cast members appearing in all 110 episodes. Ever wonder what those cast members are up to these days?
The primary cast of Babylon 5 included Mira Furlan, Richard Biggs, Stephen Furst, Andreas Katsualas, Peter Jurasik, Jerry Doyle, Bill Mumy, Bruce Boxleitner, Claudia Christian, and Jason Carter. Unfortunately, roughly half of the primary cast members have passed away since the show ended. However, most have gone on to new projects on the big and small screen. Here is where the surviving cast members of Babylon 5 are today.
Robert Rusler: Warren Keffer
Everybody’s favorite 80s movie baddie, Robert Rusler (Weird Science, Thrashin’), played the recurring role of Warren Keffer in Babylon 5. So what’s he up to now?
Quite a bit. After appearing in four feature films in 2018, Rusler landed two high-profile TV shows. He appeared as Mr. Morris in three episodes of Light as a Feather and played Gus O’Dea in three episodes of Ray Donovan. In 2019, Rusler starred in the action film Atone. He also completed a short film entitled Nana and will appear as himself in the upcoming FredHeads: The Documentary.
Ardwight Chamberlain: Voice of Kosh, Ulkesh and Vorlon
Although Ardwight Chamberlain’s voice was only heard in 27 episodes, Babylon 5 fans know what memorable characters he played as Kosh, Ulkesh and Vorlon.
What fans may not know is how Ardwight left the limelight in 2005 to do what he does best, writing. With currently 40 writing credits to his name, Ardwight most recently wrote episodes of the TV series Ultraman. He also adapted the screenplay for the 2019 Netflix original, Elisa & Marcela. Weirdly, Ardwight never wrote a single episode of Babylon 5. Go figure.
Patricia Tallman: Lyta Alexander
Patricia Tallman has appeared in some of the most beloved cinematic cult-classics. After appearing in Monkey Shines, Road House, Night of the Living Dead, and Army of Darkness, Tallman landed the role of Lyta Alexander in Babylon 5. So where is she now?
While she hasn’t appeared on screen since the 2018 short film A Rose Is A Rose Is A Rose, Tallman continues to support the horror genre. Tallman will reportedly partake in the upcoming documentary Hail to the Deadites, which will chronicle her role in Army of Darkness.
Andrea Thompson: Talia Winters
One of the biggest mysteries surrounding the Babylon 5 cast members is what happened to Andrea Thompson.
The former model, who starred as Talia Winters in 44 episodes, abruptly quit acting to become a news journalist in 2001. Thompson became a TV anchor for CNN’s Headline News until 2002, when she left the position after nine months. Thompson returned to acting in 2003, appearing on 24 before guest-starring in two episodes of Bones in 2007. Thompson last appeared in a 2016 episode of Quarry on Showtime.
Jason Carter: Marcus Cole
The British thespian began his career on the small screen, playing a recurring character on the TV show The Hard Word. Carter would go on to play Ranger Marcus Cole on Babylon 5. In 2019, it appears Carter is leaving the small screen for the silver screen.
These days, Carter continues to toil in the horror and science fiction genres. He has three feature films in various stages of development. They include Starship II: Rendezvous With Ramses, The Dead Reckoning, and the leading role in Darkeye: CyberHunt.
Claudia Christian: Susan Ivanova
Claudia Christian appeared in 87 episodes of Babylon 5, playing the character of Susan Ivanova. In five years, she was promoted from Commander to Lt. Commander to General. In 2019, she’s become a Goddess.
After appearing in five different projects in 2018, Christian had a relatively quiet 2019. However, that’s because she was hard at work filming the new TV series Gods & Heroes, in which Christian will play the mighty Hera. For all you mythology majors, that means she is the Queen of the Gods and Goddess of Marriage and Birth.
Bruce Boxleitner: John Sheridan
American actor Bruce Boxleitner has had an illustrious career. In addition to headlining his very own movie franchise (Tron), he has appeared in countless films and TV shows over the past 45 years. And frankly, not much has changed in 2o19.
After playing President John Sheridan in 88 episodes of Babylon 5, Boxleitner remains both presidential and intergalactic in 2019. Boxleitner continues to play President Baker on Supergirl, a role he began in 2018. He’s also poised to appear in the upcoming sci-fi series Space Command in 2019.
Bill Mumy: Lennier
American bit player Bill Mumy began his career as a child actor, appearing in Lost In Space at the age of 14. Over 40 years later, Mumy remains consigned to the cosmos.
Mumy, who appeared in all 110 episodes of Babylon 5 as Lennier, made a cameo in the revamped Lost In Space series in 2018. Now, in 2019 and beyond, Mumy is set to reunite with Bruce Boxleitner in the impending sci-fi series Space Command. Additionally, Mumy has an action film in post-production called Agents of Project Blue Book that still awaits a release date.
Peter Jurasik: Londo Mollari
Longtime TV actor Peter Jurasik, who starred as Londo Mollari in all 110 episodes of Babylon 5, has not appeared onscreen during the past two years. His last acting credit was for the 2017 TV series Mercy Street. But that doesn’t mean he’s gone away entirely.
Jurasik will soon appear as himself in the spiritual documentary Changing Course, which is currently in post-production. The film will document one man’s harrowing journey as he sails across the Atlantic Ocean alone, traveling from North Carolina to Portugal.
Mira Furlan: Delenn
Croatian actress Mira Furlan, who played the tough heroine Ambassador Delenn in every episode of Babylon 5, will continue to explore the universe in 2019 and beyond.
Furlan is slated to reunite with Babylon 5 cast-mates Bill Mumy and Bruce Boxleitner in the new sci-fi series Space Command. Additionally, Furlan has been announced to appear in the dramatic film Burning at Both Ends, co-starring Cary Elwes and Jason Patric. Furlan has also completed photography on two short films awaiting release, Hiba and Variables.
