Hannah Godwin and Dylan Barbour, stars of Bachelor in Paradise, are looking forward to a private ceremony for their upcoming nuptials. Unlike previous couples from the Bachelor Nation spin-off show, the pair has no plans to tie the knot on TV, according to recent comments.
Hannah and Dylan first met on season six of Bachelor in Paradise, which aired this summer. Hannah was still recovering from the heartbreak of being sent home on Colton Underwood’s season after he chose Cassie Randolph as his winner. Dylan, on the other hand, faded into the background during Hannah Brown’s season. He never developed a strong relationship with Brown, but was immediately drawn to Hannah G. as soon as he arrived on the beach. Even though Hannah reciprocated his feelings, she was still dealing with complicated emotions surrounding her relationship with playboy Blake Horstsmann. Hannah waffled between the two men for a few episodes before she chose Dylan for good, putting her feelings for Blake aside. After that moment, Hannah and Dylan settled into a comfortable relationship. Their feelings expanded over the course of the season, until they got engaged during the very last episode. Now, they’re giving fans some insight into what they imagine for their upcoming wedding.
In a recent interview with E!, Hannah and Dylan discussed their future plans, including their idea of the perfect wedding. While the couple doesn’t have a date set and made it clear that they were in the early stages of planning, they did discuss a few important aspects of their special day. “I have such fun ideas, but good weather, a cool view and a really good time,” Hannah said. “That’s the one thing we do talk about and reiterate.” When asked if they wanted their wedding to be televised, Hannah immediately made it clear that wasn’t an option. “I just want it to be us,” she said. “We want it to be private and the most raw version of us and I like things and certain parts of ourselves being broadcast, we love sharing those moments. But for something so big… we want it to be family and friends.”
While further discussing their future plans, the pair made it clear that their first priority right now is each other, rather than a big, flashy wedding. “We shared a ton with Bachelor in Paradise and now we just want to focus on us,” Dylan said. So what’s their first priority right now? Getting into the same city. Currently, the engaged couple is still commuting back and forth between San Diego and Los Angeles, though they plan on moving in together in the future. While they’re figuring out the other details of their relationship, the wedding planning is taking a back seat. However, they do have an engagement party coming up, though they don’t know many details. “It’s a surprise,” explained Hannah.
Despite their rocky start, Hannah and Dylan are arguably the strongest couple to emerge from this season of Bachelor in Paradise, especially since Demi Burnett and Kristian Haggerty announced their breakup. Katie Morton and Chris Bukowski, the other engaged pair, already expressed troubles in their relationship, and - according to social media - don’t seem to spend much time together. Hannah and Dylan, on the other hand, are practically attached at the hip. While it’d be beautiful to see their marriage on-screen, their desire for a private ceremony oddly makes their relationship feel more real. Will they be the couple to make it down the aisle? We’ll have to wait and see.
