Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay says she doesn’t have time for a feud with Colton Underwood. The bad blood between the stars has been brewing for weeks.
At first, it seemed that their problems stemmed from another public rift that has nothing to do with Underwood. In June 2019, a Reddit feed mentioned that Lindsay and Raven Gates unfollowed each other on their respective social media profiles. Months later, on October 2, 2019, Lindsay appeared on Bravo’s late show, Watch What Happens Live. A caller questioned her about the cause of the feud, and she was quick to set the record straight. Lindsay explained that while she wouldn’t get into details about what happened, it was enough to make her walk away from the friendship. Why is Underwood inserting himself into their drama? Apparently, his beef with Lindsay has nothing to do with Gates after all, saying, “I’m not weighing in on the Rachel/Raven drama. I could care less about that, not my business. What is my business is the countless number of times she’s spoke poorly of me."
In the days after Lindsay publicly dumped Gates, Underwood took to social media (again) to air his grievances about her personality, writing on Instagram, “Shocker. Rachel mad at another person… does she like anyone?” While many in Bachelor Nation liked the social media comment, just as many of Lindsay’s fans rushed to her defense. One follower quipped at the blond athlete: “You really pushing that angry black woman trope, aren’t you?” Another wrote: “Not cool, Colton.. SMH.”
Viewers remember Underwood as the virginal NFL free agent who made a play for Becca Kufrin during her stint as the Bachelorette. Producers later named him the Bachelor for season 23 of the long-running show. As the titular playboy, Underwood eventually proclaimed his love for 23-year-old for Cassie Randolph, with whom he is currently involved. His squeaky-clean, boy-next-door persona is in stark contrast to the outspoken luminary who has convinced himself that he’s under attack. Lindsay continues to dismiss his comments, calling him “petty,” and recommending that they hash out their disagreements like adults. Underwood accepted the invitation, but took one last shot at Lindsay with a scathing Twitter post on October 17, saying, “Looking forward to meeting you & pointing out your hypocrisy over the last year.”
So what does Lindsay think about Underwood’s latest jab? Well, not much. The Texas attorney is a recent newlywed. She said, “I do,” to Bachelorette finalist Bryan Abasolo at the Royalton Suites Cancun Resort & Spa in Mexico in August 2019. Lindsay is co-host of MTV’s show, Ghosted. She is also the co-host of Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, as well as ESPNRadio’s Game Night. To quote her from her season of The Bachelorette, she’s living her best life!
