What I like about AppBak is that it’s so simple to use, anyone can figure it out. And you can’t mess up your smartphone by using it. The main menu of the interface features two buttons and that’s it. Backups are created by naming them and pushing Ok. When a backup is created, it’s stored to the SD card. During factory resets and rom installations, the SD is relatively untouched....

After a seventeen-year hiatus, Martin Lawrence and Will Smith are together again in Bad Boys for Life. The third film in the popular buddy cop series is a glorious return to form, seeing both actors in peak performance mode. Audiences have responded to the return kindly, giving the film an impressive sixty-million dollar opening weekend against a ninety million dollar budget. The momentum hasn’t let up either, with the 2020 sequel grossing more than two hundred million dollars so far at the worldwide box office....

As Disney’s live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast creeps ever closer to its opening weekend more and more clips have been emerging. Many of the clips are from the live-action versions of the original animated film’s iconic musical numbers. That includes the opening sequence ‘Belle’, with Emma Watson strolling through the movie’s version of the French countryside, as well as Emma Thompson, as Mrs. Potts, singing the eponymous song....

A new app called BeHere aimed at teachers uses Apple’s new Bluetooth LE iBeacon technology to recognize students and automatically take attendance as they enter a classroom. With the BeHere app installed, the teacher’s iPad acts as an iBeacon and students entering the classroom with an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch will automatically appear in the app with a profile picture and name. Students will have to install the app on their device too, but thanks to recent iBeacon improvements in iOS 7....

That iPhone dock up above is no joke (notice the scale of the iPhone in it). It was built as a one-off for CES 2012 by Behringer, the award-winning innovator of affordable professional audio and music equipment. Known appropriately as iNuke, this $30,000 8ftx4ft, 700 pound dock pumps out a handy 10,000 Watts of power. All in a package the size of a refrigerator. How about a giveaway, Behringer? We’ll be on hand at CES this year to check it out....

When it comes to planning out your days, some people just prefer to make a to-do list but, that not enough if you are a working professional because you have to keep a track of all the appointments, emails, tasks, and more. So instead of putting everything on your calendar and call it a day, you need to have a personal information manager, and I’m not talking about those corporate managers who charge a hefty salary....

To mark Larry David’s first time hosting Saturday Night Live he was perfectly cast as Bernie Sanders in “Bern Your Enthusiasm” – a skit parodying both the presidential hopeful and David’s comedy series Curb Your Enthusiasm. Larry David has a colorful history with America’s longest-running variety show. Before he found success with Seinfeld, David worked as a writer on SNL in the mid-1980s during the show’s tenth season. In a typically Larry David moment, he rage quit after having his umpteenth sketch was cut....

Apple released EFI firmware updates for the MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and iMacs this evening. The updates bring Lion Internet Recovery to the 2010 models of the MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and iMac. You can open up Software Update or download the updates directly from Apple’s website. MacBook Pro MacBook Air iMac Lion Internet Recovery was introduced by Apple in Lion to re-download the OS directly from Apple’s servers over an Internet connection when all else fails....

Warner Bros. recently announced plans to develop an Aquaman spinoff, tentatively titled The Trench. As the name suggests, the film will focus on the Trench, a race of sea creatures that feature rather minimally in Aquaman, but leave a lasting impression. This comes courtesy of the incredible practical and digital effects that brought The Trench to life on the big screen. In comics, this race of creatures doesn’t have a notably rich history, as it debuted during DC’s New 52 relaunch in 2011....

Although the last couple of seasons on Netflix let it down, Arrested Development remains one of the smartest TV comedies to ever hit the air. It has a Simpsons-level gag rate, with a whip-smart command of pop culture references and an unwavering commitment to maintaining and continually evolving running jokes. This show has some of the best writing in the history of television. Each episode is filled with interweaving storylines, moves along at a brisk pace, and has jokes layered on top of jokes layered on top of jokes....

The Arrowverse started with Arrow, and the Green Arrow drama allowed all the spin-offs to become possible on The CW. As the series is currently in its eighth and final season, the Stephen Amell-led show has over 160 episodes worth of material for the internet to play with. With great fandoms comes great responsiblity for memes and fan-art, and Arrow is no exception. There is no debate that the gritty superhero series has taken itself incredibly seriously from it’s inception....

As Oliver Queen looks to defeat Prometheus on Arrow, he’s going to make some “surprising” alliances that will catch audiences off-guard. All season long, the show has been doing strong work wrapping up the first five years of Oliver’s story and tying them into his five years away from his home. In the process, the show has reached new heights and given us one of the darkest and most personal superhero narratives ever on TV....

On the TV show Arthur, Arthur’s teacher Mr. Ratburn comes out as gay in the season 22 premiere episode of the popular children’s show, and gets married to his partner. Arthur has been on the air since 1996, and continues to air on PBS Kids, TVO, CBBC, and numerous other networks to this day. The 22nd season of the long-running kid’s show premiered Monday, and in the episode, Arthur and his friends learn something new about the beloved, and fashionable, teacher....

Pixelapse has put together a great blog entry comparing some of the the graphic design elements of Yosemite with those of Mavericks, picking up on some of the subtle touches that many may not yet have noticed – like the translucent notification badges on the dock … Annotations point out the changes, like the smaller Apple logo in the menu bar and thinner icons. The author also points to some of the things Apple is still tweaking, like the three different versions of forward/back buttons in use....

Travis would provide Apple with roughly $6.4 million of the total $36 million in incentives included in the deal, but the vote to approve the incentive was delayed due to “weak points” in the contract....

A new Avengers: Endgame trailer recaps the first 21 films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far and finally seemingly confirms Hulk will return. The heroes will rise at last in Gotham City, as the new trailer for Gotham season 3’s return promises. For the past two and a half years, Gotham has put its own unique spin on the Bruce Wayne character, as well as his friends, foes, and the very city that has always defined the Caped Crusader. When season 3 of the show resumes next week, it will finally start taking proper steps towards Bruce becoming the Dark Knight - though his enemies aren’t going anywhere....
