Two of Apple’s content creation apps for iOS have been updated this afternoon following the release of iOS 13. Apple has updated Clips for iOS and iMovie for iOS with Dark Mode support and more. For iMovie, Apple has added support for Dark Mode, meaning the app will now match your system settings on iOS. There’s also support for accessing files from external hard drives, as well as the new Share sheet in iOS 13....

Apple device users can now download iOS 12.1 public beta which follows the developer preview. Following the iOS 12.1 developer beta, the public version of the software brings the group facetime feature. The group facetime now allows for a 32-way video chat. Apple Watch sales estimated around 1.5 million units during Q1 2016 made it the number one smartwatch, but the device continued to trail basic wearables from competitors Fitbit and Xiaomi. During the quarter both companies more than doubled Apple Watch sales, according to the latest data out today from industry watcher IDC. IDC estimates that Apple sold 1.5 million units in Q1 of this year and notes the company introduced some post-holiday discounts on its Sport Watch model to help achieve that number....

Following in the footsteps of competitors, Adidas and Under Armor, ASICS will buy fitness app-maker, Runkeeper. The move was announced on Medium by Runkeeper’s founder, Jason Jacobs, and indicates that all fitness apparel companies clearly see the need to embed tracking technology, and/or tie-in apps with their brands. Jacobs notes that partnering with ASICS to fulfill the company’s vision made complete sense. Not only is ASICS a running-oriented company, but, the manufacturer’s shoes are ‘by far’ the most popular brand among Runkeeper users....

AT&T has launched a new initiative called Mobile Share Value Plans that is designed to save customers money on their monthly AT&T mobile phone service bills. The following changes are specifically for the Mobile Share program, which allows devices to work under the same AT&T account and share data, talk, and text plans. Similar to T-Mobile’s “un-carrier” approach, the new AT&T plans separate the cost of the device hardware completely from the monthly service charges:...

United States carrier AT&T said this morning it activated 7.6 million iPhones during the holiday quarter, besting Verizon’s 4.2 million iPhone activations. It was the best-ever quarter for sales of Apple’s handset for AT&T as iPhone accounted for a whopping 80.8 percent of the 9.4 million smartphones the carrier sold in Q4 2011 (56 percent in Q3 2011). Popular unlimited cloud backup service Backblaze today announced its first-ever price increase. The company says it will increase its monthly price from $5 to $6 for both new and existing users. Backblaze says that starting March 11th, its month price will increase from $5 to $6, while its yearly price will go from $50 to $60. The two-year price is increasing from $95 to $110. In a blog post, Backblaze CEO Gleb Budman outlined that the company has enhanced its cloud backup service in several ways, all while keeping the price the same....
