Arrow season 7, episode 14 was titled “Brothers and Sisters,” in reference to the strong family theme that tied many of its subplots together. Despite this, the lion’s share of the episode was devoted to John Diggle and Lyla Michaels’ continued efforts to track down the mysterious terrorist financier known as Dante. Yet even this storyline was a family affair of sorts, as Diggle finally came clean to Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak (his brother and sister in spirit) regarding the deal he had made with Ricardo Diaz - the crime-boss who had nearly killed them both and destroyed their family in his efforts to take over Star City....

During the new iPad’s unveiling yesterday, Phil Schiller noted many of the device’s upgrades— the new Retina display, quad-core graphics engine, and LTE networking— consume a lot of battery life. Schiller then announced the new iPad would have the same 10-hour battery life over Wi-Fi (or 9 hours over 4G) as the iPad 2. A few things not included in the presentation: The new battery is a 42.5-watt-hour rechargeable lithium-polymer battery with 70 percent more capacity compared to the iPad 2’s 25-watt-hour battery (pictured right)....

Audi today announced in a press release that it plans to integrate Apple’s CarPlay technology to its vehicles possibly as soon as next year. This makes Audi the first automobile company to join Apple’s initial list of committed partners since the Cupertino-company announced the feature’s roll out plans in detail earlier this year in March although Alpine and Pioneer have been added for announcing support for aftermarket solutions. Audi has not yet been added to Apple’s CarPlay microsite which lists each car company with a commitment to support CarPlay, but Audi says that CarPlay integration with its vehicles “is taking place through intensive dialog between the Audi development lab in Silicon Valley and Apple....

The Gotham City of Batwoman is strangely familiar, modeled after (and shot in) Chicago, like the Nolan films. Recent episodes have blended this with elements of Tim Burton’s Batman films, even mentioning that the Penguin was mayor of Gotham for a time. Since Beats launched its Beats Music streaming music service earlier this week, the launch has been plagued by reliability issues and new customers not being able to sign up. Belkin has announced that it is issuing a voluntary recall for the “Portable Wireless Charger + Stand Special Edition” that was sold in Apple retail stores and online. As first reported by the Verge, the Belkin wireless charger is being recalled because of fire and shock safety hazards. Belkin says that it will be issuing a refund to all affected users. The problem is said to be caused by a “manufacturing defect in the power supply unit,” which can cause the accessory to malfunction and overheat....

Internally called “Madison,” the new feature will allow users to share the same Apple Card with other family members through iCloud Family Sharing. The Apple Card owner can invite other people to share their card and track everyone’s spending on the Wallet app. The code also suggests that the Daily Cash will also be available for family members. iOS 14.5 code confirms that the card owner can set a spending limit for each invited user....

After a series of botched updates, which meant HealthKit apps could not launch alongside iOS 8’s release, Apple has finally started allowing apps that integrate with the Health app into the App Store. The first of many is FitPort, which acts as a replacement dashboard for Health information, with all data being synced back into the Health database.
