I’ve been using a Mac laptop with a Touch Bar since last summer, and while it’s not my favorite Apple invention of all time, I do see its usefulness in specific applications. If you despise the Touch Bar, you are in a difficult spot at the moment if you need a Pro level laptop. The 13-inch MacBook Pro (with/without a Touch Bar) hasn’t been updated with the new Magic Keyboard, and the 16-inch MacBook Pro only comes equipped with a Touch Bar....
When Apple Pay launched in the UK, there was one major holdout: Barclays. The company initially said only that it was in negotiation with Apple, later said that it would be going ahead but couldn’t say when, before stating that it would be sometime in “early 2016.” The bank has now provided more specific timing in an email reply to a customer. Given that the email was dated 12th January (though only tweeted yesterday), that means Barclays will begin supporting Apple Pay sometime in March....

Matt Reeves’ The Batman is reportedly close to announcing casting news for its supporting characters, including Catwoman, Two-Face, Penguin, and Riddler. The movie will star Robert Pattinson as a younger iteration of Bruce Wayne, but it won’t be an origin story for the character. Reeves has described it as a noir-driven detective story, but plot details are being kept under wraps for now. Pattinson’s Batman will have a lot on his plate given the number of villains that are expected to appear in the movie....

Reports earlier this month noted that further delays meant the device would miss its new Q1 2013 launch date, but today Belkin has finally made things official announcing availability of the Thunderbolt Express Dock and posting the video above to its YouTube channel. Belkin does have some competition now that it has waited to launch, including the popular Matrox Thunderbolt Docking station that we’ve been recommending and the new Sonnet Echo 15 Thunderbolt Dock....
Apple this evening has released minor updates to iMovie and Final Cut Pro for Mac. The updates bring the former to version 10.1.6 and the latter to version 10.3.4, including primarily bug fixes and performance improvements for both Apple quietly issued the updates tonight, with quick and to the point change logs. The company says the update for iMovie improves stability of the app when updating libraries originally created with previous versions of the software....
Apple launched watchOS 6.2.5 to the public last month, which enabled the ECG app for Apple Watch users in Saudi Arabia. And now Apple Watch ECG may be coming to Brazil and Japan officially. Last week, Brazil’s Health Regulatory Agency (ANVISA), which is equivalent to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), has approved Apple’s ECG app in the country. The Brazilian government made an official statement mentioning that both the electrocardiogram feature and the Irregular heart rhythm notifications can now be enabled in Brazil....

As spotted by The Verge, Amazfit’s Bip takes the Apple Watch aesthetic and brings long-lasting battery to a basic smartwatch. In line with a rumor from earlier this week, we’ve heard from our sources that AppleCare+ is indeed set to soon launch in Europe. AppleCare+ is Apple’s premium support service, and it provides customers with technical support for both the iPhone and iPad for two years from the original purchase date. AppleCare+ also provides support for up to two instances of accidental damage. We understand that the launch is “imminent,” but no formal launch date has been announced internally....

Avatar: The Last Airbender is easily one of the greatest TV shows of modern times. It finished over ten years ago and it still sits comfortably within IMDb’s top 20 TV shows list. It survived a terrible live-action film and spawned a spin-off and an upcoming remake. And when you watch the show it’s not surprising because the quality of writing and care put into the characters and the story is phenomenal....
