Avengers: Endgame has finally explained how the events of Doctor Strange fit into the Marvel timeline. The MCU’s chronology just about works, but the Devil has always been in the details; dig a little too much, and the shared cinematic universe has a number of timeline problems. Some are glaring, such as the infamous, “very incorrect” Eight Years Later in Spider-Man: Homecoming, but others are more subtle. Doctor Strange has always been difficult to place in the MCU timeline....

Joss Whedon, director of The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron, has officially posted his reaction to Avengers: Endgame. The latest Avengers movie is already seeing unprecedented success, grossing 1.2 billion worldwide in its opening weekend alone. Whedon’s treatment of the team dynamic in the original Avengers movie was met with widespread acclaim. Age of Ultron was also well received, though to a lesser extent. Some fans were surprised when Whedon announced his exit from the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Ultron....

The amount of perceived contenders for The Bachelor appears to grow by the week, thanks to the overabundance of characters on Bachelor in Paradise. Chris Harrison said he didn’t want to make a decision on The Bachelor before Bachelor in Paradise aired, and some fans are appreciative for the wait. After The Bachelorette, it was reported that three men from Hannah Brown’s season — Tyler Cameron, Peter Weber, and Mike Johnson — were in the running for the role....

Robert Pattinson has already tried on his Batsuit for The Batman. After Ben Affleck officially bowed out of playing The Caped Crusader for a fourth time following his turns in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad and Justice League, speculation immediately began firing as to which actor would be next to take on the iconic role of Batman for DC and WB. Many were shocked when the chosen actor turned out to be Twilight star Pattinson....

Mac database application Bento has been updated with several noteworthy features and made its Mac App Store debut. Additionally, companion iPhone and iPad apps, each costing five bucks, have been enhanced with support for Bento 4 for Mac and the ability to record voice memos and sync iCal tasks. Mac folks who own a previous Bento version can upgrade for just $29 with a $20 instant rebate upgrade and newcomers are free to download Bento 4 from the Mac App Store for fifty bucks....

Mac channel inventory is below target level; Sacconaghi says that suggests a return to targeted level could add 500 basis points to Mac unit growth in the quarter. The trio was “most bullish about the iPhone business,” seeing a chance to gain share, with its software as the principal differentiator. In PCs, the company still sees “huge” market share headroom. In iPods, Apple is pushing the iTouch, which benefits from its ties to the App Store....

Apple is releasing updates to a few of its apps following its media event earlier today. The biggest update goes to Final Cut Pro X, because, on top of RED camera support, it received a ton of new features. iBooks Author, as Apple briefly touched on during the event, also got updates today for some of the new iBooks features and Retina Mac displays. Smaller updates to Apple’s Motion and Compressor apps were also released....

Last week, we shared a concept that explored ways Apple could improve the subscription sheet in iOS to help customers better understand what they’re signing up for. The issues with the subscription sheet have been a hot topic lately amongst the community. But tonight, the developer behind Launch Center Pro, David Barnard, has pointed out that in the latest beta of iOS 14.5 Apple has started to make some changes to improve the experience....

Apple is now preparing for the rollout of the in-store pickup option on new Apple Watch orders, which will allow users to select a retail location to pick up their wearable devices after order. This is the first time Apple has made any indication of watch stock appearing at its stores since Angela Ahrendts revealed that the company was unsure of when that might happen. The radio button to select the option is currently disabled, but is expected to be turned on once local stores start to see shipments arrive....

Very scary news coming from Wired’s Mat Honan. As well publicized over the weekend, Honan’s iCloud account was hacked. ‘Bad’. This quickly led to Honan’s Twitter account, and in turn Gizmodo’s Twitter account (where Honan used to work). Honan’s Twitter profiles were attached to his iCloud email, and a simple Twitter password reset allowed those with access to his iCloud account to enter the Twitter accounts. Even worse, access to his iCloud account gave access to Find my iPhone....

The stock headphones are the first thing I throw into my junk drawer when any new mobile gadget arrives. They’re always cheap quality and sound like crap. When I first got the original iPod, I used the headphones that came with it. I tricked myself into thinking that because the device is so amazing, the headphones are too. While perhaps not truly infinite, the Arrowverse has been revealed to be far larger than previously imagined, thanks to Crisis on Infinite Earths. The crossover event has confirmed that many worlds created for other television series and movies based on DC Comics creations are all part of the same shared multiverse. The Arrowverse first came into being during season 2 of The Flash, as Barry Allen and his allies fought Zoom - a villainous speedster from the alternate reality of Earth-2....

According to a leaked slide obtained by The Verge, Spotify is planning to introduce a more expensive price tier that offers higher quality lossless audio streaming. The tier is said to be priced at $10 more than Spotify’s standard offering, meaning it will come in at $20 per month. Would you pay more for lossless support with Apple Music streaming? Apple Music currently streams at 256Kbps AAC format, while Spotify’s $9....

The iPad application AT&T has announced plans for a consumer home automation and security suite of services that will begin trials this summer. The services, which exist under the “AT&T Digital Life” naming umbrella, can be controlled via mobile devices (including iPads, iPhones, and iPod touches) and on the web. The system allows users to control home features such as thermostats (even individually by room), power outlets, garage doors, lighting, and more....

The latest version of Smoke provides a new user interface that combines Autodesk’s creative tools and effects with its track-based editing: ConnectFX for high-end effects, and Creative Tools—featuring “a robust toolset with proven high-end finishing tools.” While noting a successful run for the trial download of the software, Autodesk said it implemented even more features and enhancements based on user recommendations....

Earlier this year, the MCU’s 22-part Infinity Saga culminated in Avengers: Endgame, easily the biggest movie event of the decade. Since the movie clocked in at a whopping three hours, it’s surprising that anything actually got cut, but there were scenes that the Russo brothers ended up leaving on the cutting room floor. In the months since the movie first hit theaters, the directors and their screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely have been revealing more and more details about what got cut....

A newly released behind-the-scenes video from Avengers: Endgame sees Robert Downey Jr. seemingly practicing his delivery for Tony Stark’s final message. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo with a script written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, the three-hour blockbuster also served as the final outings for some of the MCU’s founding heroes, including its inaugural one. In the aftermath of their loss to Thanos (Josh Brolin) in Avengers: Infinity War, the heroes went their separate ways to spend the next five years....

Numerous AWS-based business services, such as Duo, the two-factor authentication endpoint security service; Zoom, the video-conferencing platform; and Slack, the messaging service, were affected. Entertainment services, including Hulu, Xbox Live, and Halo, also went down. DownDetector also showed AWS having a failure surge this morning. Since then AWS reported that the problem was with internet connectivity in the US-West-1 and 2 Regions. “We have resolved the issue affecting Internet connectivity to the US-WEST-1 Region....

Barkhad Abdi has shed some light on his character from the upcoming sequel, Blade Runner 2049. The film is set decades after Ridley Scott’s original Blade Runner, picking up the story after we left the fate of Harrison Ford’s Rick Deckard open to interpretation. Blade Runner 2049 follows Ryan Gosling’s Officer K, who is tasked with tracking down Deckard for a mysterious purpose. As we head into the future with Denis Villeneuve’s Blade Runner sequel, it looks like the followup to Scott’s 1982 classic isn’t skimping on its sci-fi madness....
