Asus promised the Android Pie updates for their phones quite a time back, but missed their deadlines. After that, Deepak Sharma, head of mobile business, Asus, took it to YouTube to apologize for missing the timeline for the updates from the users and revealed new dates for the roll-out. He announced that the Zenfone Pro M1, Pro M2, and the Max M2 will get the updates by April 15th. Beta versions of the update were out since a few days, but you had to fill a form, deal with bugs in the OS, and report them to Asus....

Yahoo today has announced its second large hack in a matter of 3 months. In a post on the company’s Tumblr account, Yahoo’s chief information security officer Bob Lord announced that, in 2013, data from more than 1 billion user accounts was accessed by an unauthorized third-party. This revelation comes after Yahoo confirmed in September that 500 million user accounts were affected by a separate data breach. Yahoo first became suspicious regarding the hack last month when law enforcement provided the company with data files from a third-party who claimed that it was Yahoo user account information....

This week’s Arrow saw the return of some of our favorite female villains from seasons past, continuing the full-circle theme of this season. Ubisoft has been recently published the much-awaited action RPG video game called Assassin’s Creed Valhalla which has been developed by Ubisoft Montreal. We’ve just been handed some internal AT&T information on device changes: . A new tier of device will be created in AT&T’s phone database on October 4th (a Tuesday:) which will require a higher rate of insurance. iPhone (and other devices) will move there on the arbitrary October 4th date. It is curious that the iPhone was mentioned specifically and not other devices. While light years away from a new iPhone launch date confirmation, it could be a sign that new iPhones will hit AT&T in this timeframe....

Studio Lab is currently available in public preview. The service is based on open-source JupyterLab and provides free access to AWS compute resources. To begin, a user creates an account (separate from an AWS account) and selects whether they need a CPU or GPU instance for their project. Spotify confidentially filed IPO documents with the SEC late last month, Axios reports, after months of speculation that the private company would soon be going public. Spotify’s direct listing approach is a shift from traditional initial public offering moves from other tech companies. Axios says Spotify could begin trading by the end of March if all goes as planned, although a new music publisher lawsuit to the tune of $1.6 billion could be a factor....

Caelynn Miller-Keyes should reject Dean Unglert’s apology upon his return to Bachelor in Paradise. She deserves someone who is ready for a real relationship, and Unglert has proven he’s not that guy. Unglert waltzed on to the scene a few weeks into Paradise, with a new look and new perspective on life. His homelessness and questionable streak of hair above his upper lip didn’t deter Miller-Keyes, who was looking for a steady partner following the Blake Horstmann debacle....

Ebro Darden has hosted a show on Apple Music’s always-on Beats 1 station since its inception, but now he’s taking on a broader role at the streaming service. Billboard reports this morning that Darden has been appointed as Apple Music’s global editorial head of hip-hop and R&B. Under this new role, Darden will manage a team of hip-hop and R&B editors and focus on editorial strategies for content releases, Billboard says....

Shawn Score, president of Best Buy’s mobile division, says, “We think we’ll have a good supply for our customers.” Analyst Wolf says he believes that Apple is catching up with demand. “Supply is coming on board.” Best Buy says it has a national exclusive on the iPhone (outside of Apple and AT&T stores) through Christmas. The retailer has Apple Macintosh sections at 600 of its stores. Adding to in-store customer waiting time is a new, longer procedure to activate the iPhone that has made the buying process much longer....
